Frequently Asked Questions

Here are common questions we get from users worldwide.

Is SafeHerit a digital will? Do I still need a traditional will if I use SafeHerit?

SafeHerit is not a substitute for a legally binding will. We provide a secure, encrypted platform for storing and sharing information about your assets. Many users choose to keep a formal paper will and reference SafeHerit in that will, so their heirs know exactly where to find the relevant accounts and instructions.

SafeHerit helps communicate your wishes to beneficiaries, but it is not a legally binding instrument. We recommend consulting with a legal professional for formal estate planning. SafeHerit simply ensures your loved ones know about your assets and how to access them.

Traditional wills often become outdated quickly. SafeHerit allows you to update your digital asset list in real-time without having to re-draft a formal will. It can also provide more detailed instructions, especially for technical assets like crypto wallets.

We use military-grade encryption, and only you and your beneficiaries have the private keys needed to decrypt your data. We don’t have those keys, so not even our team can read your assets. Your data is only shared with the beneficiaries you designate and only after your passing is confirmed.

You can register virtually any type of asset: traditional bank accounts, brokerage accounts, crypto wallets, real estate documents, precious metals, and more. SafeHerit is flexible enough to handle anything you store and encrypt.

Beneficiaries are the people you designate to receive your asset information when you pass away. Validators confirm your passing. They only confirm your inactivity and do not see any asset details.

No. You can assign specific assets to specific beneficiaries. SafeHerit offers granular control, allowing you to keep certain assets private.

Disclosure occurs only after SafeHerit confirms your inactivity. Once confirmed, beneficiaries receive a secure email with credentials to log in and decrypt the assets you assigned to them.

Absolutely. That’s what Validators do. You can appoint multiple validators who confirm your passing before SafeHerit releases any information to beneficiaries.
